+ Why is a Dietitian an important member of the Eating Disorder Recovery team?
The dietitian helps explore emotions, feelings and fears around food and weight and the goals the client wishes to accomplish. They assist clients in managing difficult food situations. Dietitians discuss and evaluate exercise and lifestyle with clients in their current state of recovery. The ultimate goal is to reach a state of mindful and intuitive eating.
+ How do I schedule my first appointment?
You can schedule your appointment over the phone or by email. You can call me at 720.432.1622. The voicemail is confidential so you can feel safe leaving your information. You may also email me at malia@maliadunnnutrition.com. When contacting me please tell me your name, what you want to work on, who referred you, your phone number and email address. I will return your message within 2 business days. We will talk briefly about your nutrition goals and how I can best serve you. At that time we will schedule your first appointment which can be in-person or virtual.
+ What can I expect when I come to my first visit?
At your 55-minute initial consultation, we will discuss your nutrition, health, and life goals. From there we will begin creating a treatment plan to improve your eating habits, symptoms, and self-care.
+ Do I need to bring anything to my first visit?
You will receive intake paperwork from me when we scheudle your appointment. Please fill out the paperwork prior to our first appointment. You should bring a list of supplements and medications, including dosage, that you are currently taking. It is also helpful to bring in labwork you have had done within the year.
+ Parking and Navigation
Parking: When you turn off McCaslin Blvd, and into our driveway, there is ample parking surrounding the building.
From the North If you are coming from the Boulder, CO area, take CO-36 S and take the exit onto McCaslin Blvd. heading North. After crossing S. Centennial Pkwy, take the first right into our parking lot.
From the South If you are coming from South of Louisville, take CO-36 N and take the exit onto McCaslin Blvd. After crossing S. Centennial Pkwy, take the first right into our parking lot.
+ How long are the appointments?
The initial consultation is 55 minutes. Follow-up sessions are either 55 or 25 minutes. If you would like longer or shorter sessions, please ask me for special pricing.
+ What is your cancellation policy?
Please cancel 24 hours before the START of your session or you will be charged in full for your appointment. Exceptions may be made for extenuating circumstances.
+ Can I use my insurance?
Currently I accept Cigna insurance. If you have another insurance I am happy to provide you a superbill to submit for possible reimbursement.
